What is BMET?

The Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) is a regulatory body under the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, Bangladesh. Registration with BMET is mandatory for any Bangladeshi citizen intending to work abroad. It ensures legal migration, safeguards workers' rights, and provides an Emigration Clearance Card (Smart Card) which is essential for departure.

Required Documents

Please prepare the following documents for your BMET Registration.

Original Passport

Valid for at least 6 months with clear biometric pages.

Valid Visa Copy

Official employment visa provided by the employer.

Medical Certificate

GAMCA or approved medical fitness report.

Training Certificate

3-days mandatory Pre-Departure Training certificate.

Fingerprint Enrollment

Biometric enrollment receipt from BMET office.

Job Offer Letter

Official employment contract from the foreign employer.

Passport Size Photos

Recent passport-size photographs with white background.

National ID (NID)

Copy of National Identity Card or Birth Certificate.

Processing Steps

How we manage your clearance seamlessly.

1. Document Submission

Submit your passport, visa, and medical reports to our office. We verify all documents for compliance.

2. Pre-Departure Training

Attend the mandatory 3-days orientation training at a designated TTC and obtain your certificate.

3. Biometric Fingerprint

Complete your biometric fingerprint enrollment at the BMET office or specialized centers.

4. Final Clearance

We submit your complete file to BMET. Once approved, you receive your Emigration Clearance Smart Card.
